Green & Glam Eucalyptus: from herbal remedy to decoration
Eucalyptus is well known for its therapeutic properties that have been used for centuries. This beautiful plant is used as disinfectant and as an active ingredient in herbal teas and aerosols to cure throat and lungs. Together with mint, it is one of the best-known balsamic plants in herbalism and perfumery, and recently it has seen a growth in its use as a decorative plant. The branches of the eucalyptus have different shaped leaves, depending on the development period of every single plant: young leaves are rounded and icy in colour, similar to lichen, while older leaves are dark green, long and pointed in shape. The different colours and shapes make this an excellent cut flower (even if the flowers are actually more or less invisible and the part most used is the leaf), also because of its fresh, unmistakable perfume.
Green & Glam Eucalyptus: the star of every event
Its cool colour makes it a must for the winter bridal bouquet: Vogue mentions it among the top 10 trends for floral wedding decorations for 2017. However, eucalyptus is destined to be a talking point for much longer yet… It has also been chosen by Brizzolari for the collection of Green & Glam ribbons by Ellen Hidding. As well as being a perfect floral decoration for homes in country or shabby chic style, it is also the ideal complementary touch for wedding decorations, perhaps accompanied – as recommended by Vogue – by other branches in dusty, cool shades, such as the famous olive branch or lavender, to use with natural materials such as raffia or string. Eucalyptus is also used as a floral motif for some of Brizzolari’s decorative ribbons.

Here are some examples to add the perfect touch to special events and parties. Wrapped around a simple box of chocolates, with a knot and matching label, it can enhance a gift without even the need for wrapping paper. The prismatic, changing shades of eucalyptus find their perfect match with a wedding invitation, announcing the “green” nature of the ceremony and celebrations. Green & Glam Eucalyptus is available in different thicknesses with continued pattern or label. The beauty of the Eucalyptus ribbon also lies in the “technique” used to reproduce the leaves: the decoration in fact mimics a watercolour painting that brings out the full delicacy of the plant, the genuine star of floral decorations for 2017!
