Lace ribbons, valued ribbons
When it comes to elegance and style, lace is undoubtedly one of the chief items. Chantilly, Battenberg, and Valenciennes … all these are fabrics that belong to the history of fashion and trimming. Look at the laceworks and you’ll immediately think of the ladies at the Versailles court, of the suspenders of the Moulin Rouge dancers, your thoughts run and you are ready to start crafting your special gift parcel. Laceworks are multifaceted and may become a nice embellishment for a lovely package, a jokey punk touch with dark colors in contrast to the wrap paper or a flimsy country-style trimming when used in natural shades. Lace is a fine open fabric whose threads are knitted to obtain patterns and that’s why it is suitable for a profusion of combinations: choose lace and paper in the same color and you’ll get a bas-relief effect, select a lace in a shade slightly different from the paper color – either lighter or darker – and your parcel will look as if it had just come out from a fashion-house, decide on contrasting colors and the result will be as bright as possible. A 3D decoration may be obtained by inserting a ribbon or a string in the lace open spaces, which gives motion as well as a suspender belt effect to your decoration.
Using lace ribbons
Lace ribbons are perfect to package parcels, but they can also be used for many other decorations and embellishments. Your sneakers become more joyful if you replace the standard shoestrings with laces, and your charms are more eye-catching when using laces instead of standard chains. Wrap candles in lace and add a cinnamon stick or a fresh flower to get a lovely centerpiece for a special dinner; embellish ordinary bottles by wrapping them in lace ribbon to make them unique and imaginative. And again as table decoration: use lace ribbons to trim painted tin cans and you’ll get customized place cards. Lace ribbons may be easily applied to the edges of old vests, skirts and tops to give them a second more captivating life. Lace ribbons may be stuck to windows as a house decoration or sewn to the edges of towels and pillows to make them cuter and more precious. Laceworks have their own personality: whichever the use, they turn ordinary items, clothing and accessories into unique and unconventional articles.
